PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) continues to expand access to home ownership for all segments of society as part of the company’s transformation within the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem. This is being realised, among other ways, through the provision of inclusive housing finance, including for persons with disabilities.

One beneficiary is Suprati, a disabled informal worker who repairs watches in the Ilir Barat area of Palembang. Through a BTN mortgage facility (KPR), Suprati and his family have succeeded in realising their long-held dream of owning their own home after years of living in rented accommodation.

“Owning my own home has been a dream of mine for a long time. I am grateful that BTN gave me the opportunity to make it happen. As a person with a disability, I feel I have been treated equally and given the same chance to own a home. I hope more people can experience the benefits that I have felt,” Suprati said in Palembang, as quoted on Thursday.

Meanwhile, BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu stated that Suprati’s story is tangible proof of the bank’s commitment to delivering inclusive services for the entire community. He noted that BTN’s transformation as part of Danantara Indonesia is not solely oriented towards business growth, but also towards creating a real impact for society.

“We interpret BTN’s transformation with Danantara Indonesia as a commitment to serving the community wholeheartedly. We want to ensure every Indonesian family has an equal opportunity to own a decent home, including our brothers and sisters with disabilities. For BTN, success is not only reflected in business growth, but also in the increasing number of people who feel the tangible benefits of BTN’s presence,” Nixon said.

As a bank that has financed more than 6 million housing units since 1976, BTN continues to strengthen its role as the government’s main partner in supporting the 3 Million Houses Programme. Through various financing innovations, service digitalisation via the Balé by BTN app, and collaboration with various stakeholders, BTN is striving to make the home ownership process easier, faster, and more affordable for the public.

This commitment is part of BTN’s transformation to deliver banking services that are more inclusive, adaptive, and oriented towards customer needs. In line with the spirit of ‘Melayani Sepenuh Hati’ (Serving Wholeheartedly), BTN will continue to expand access to housing finance so that more Indonesian families can realise their dream of owning a home, while also supporting the implementation of the 3 Million Houses Programme as one of the government’s strategic initiatives.
