BTN Disburses Rp 530 Trillion in Mortgages for 6 Million Housing Units Since 1976
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk or BTN has disbursed Home Ownership Credit (KPR) worth Rp 530 trillion to 6 million units since 1976 until early April 2026. BTN’s President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu revealed that from this KPR disbursement, the company has helped around 24 million people to own homes, assuming 6 million houses are occupied by 4 people per house. He detailed that throughout the first quarter of 2026, this bank with the stock code BBTN has disbursed housing credit worth Rp 329.93 trillion, or an increase of 5.9 percent year-on-year (yoy). From this total, the specific KPR disbursement reached Rp 306.1 trillion, growing 6.8 percent (yoy). This figure accounts for 76.4 percent of the total credit disbursed by BTN throughout the first quarter of 2026. Meanwhile, the realisation of financing for subsidised KPR amounted to Rp 193.55 trillion, increasing 7.7 percent (yoy), and non-subsidised KPR amounted to Rp 112.56 trillion or increasing 5.4 percent. As is known, the housing sector is a capital-intensive sector that requires local labour from developers to labourers. It also requires around 90 percent of raw materials from local products to build houses. In addition, from every house sold, the state receives revenue in the form of taxes.
