BTN Considers Share Buyback for Employee Bonuses
PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) is considering buying back its shares to support a bonus and share ownership programme for employees. The plan is currently being assessed for inclusion in a revision of the Bank’s Business Plan (RBB).
BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu stated that the share buyback option arose because the company believes the current BBTN share price remains below its fair value. Consequently, he is considering distributing these shares to employees.
“Currently, the BBTN share price is quite undervalued, so a possibility we can examine is purchasing shares for the needs of employee programmes such as bonuses or stock options,” Nixon said in a press statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
According to Nixon, the plan is not yet included in the current RBB. However, the bank will first study the possibility of incorporating it into the upcoming RBB revision.
