BTN Becomes Top Distributor of Subsidised Mortgages, Minister Ara Expresses Appreciation
Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) has commended PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) as the largest national distributor of subsidised Home Ownership Loans (KPR). The appreciation was delivered during a Mass Contracting Ceremony for 62,710 Sejahtera FLPP Mortgages, led by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in Batang Regency, Central Java.
On the same occasion, President Prabowo Subianto stressed in his remarks that housing is a vital need for the public. The President urged all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration so that more people can own decent and affordable homes.
“And BTN’s President Director, Mr Nixon — BTN has the highest figure for subsidised housing. I can report to you, Mr President, that BTN’s subsidised housing disbursement is the highest. Thank you, Mr Nixon,” said Maruarar Sirait, as quoted from his statement on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
At the event, BTN was the bank with the largest number of participants, with 30,203 BTN debtors taking part in the contracting ceremony both in person and online from various regions across Indonesia.
BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said the achievement was the result of an increasingly strong synergy across the entire housing ecosystem, including support from Danantara Indonesia in strengthening collaboration between the government, BP Tapera, the banking sector and developers.
“The appreciation from the Minister of PKP is a source of motivation for BTN to continue carrying out its mandate as the leader of national housing finance. Together with Danantara Indonesia, we continue to strengthen ecosystem collaboration so that more people gain access to decent, affordable and quality homes,” said Nixon.
As of 29 July 2026, according to data presented by the Ministry of PKP, BTN had disbursed 55,766 FLPP mortgage units, the highest among the Himbara banks. Meanwhile, PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) recorded 28,282 units disbursed. On a consolidated basis, BTN and BSN have disbursed 84,048 subsidised housing units throughout 2026.
According to Nixon, BTN’s leadership in people’s housing finance is realised not only through mortgage disbursement to the public, but also through strengthening the supply side. As of 29 July 2026, the realisation of BTN’s Housing Programme Credit (KPP) had reached approximately Rp4.39 trillion to support developers, contractors, building material stores and other businesses within the housing supply chain.
