BTN and Rumah123 Synergise Home Search and Mortgage Services
Data shows that 63.5 per cent of home searches originate from Gen Z and Millennials aged 18–44 years. PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) and PT Web Marketing Indonesia (Rumah123) are collaborating to develop a digital ecosystem that delivers integrated property search and financing services to improve access to homeownership for the public.
BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu revealed that the shift in public behaviour when purchasing property is the main reason for partnering with the property marketplace. “Data shows that 63.5 per cent of home searches originate from Gen Z and Millennials aged 18–44 years,” Nixon said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Thursday. “They are now the main driver of property demand in Indonesia, with a total population reaching 140.3 million people, or nearly 49.3 per cent of Indonesia’s total population,” he continued.
He explained that Rumah123 service users can access a feature to check their readiness for a BTN Mortgage (KPR) and receive assistance in the financing application process. Meanwhile, more than 4.8 million active Rumah123 listings can also be accessed by customers of the state-owned bank through the Bale by BTN application, including various auction assets and other housing options.
Nixon stated that the collaboration is part of BTN’s Beyond Mortgage strategy, so the bank does not merely act as a mortgage product provider but can also assist customers in home searching, financial capability checks, financing applications, and managing their desired homes. He hopes the synergy between BTN and Rumah123 can make the homeownership process easier, faster, and more convenient through end-to-end services on a single digital platform.
“In fact, BTN mortgage debtors are now dominated by Gen Z and Millennials, with a share reaching 95.3 per cent. This is strong evidence that the future of the housing finance industry is a digital future,” said Nixon LP Napitupulu. 99 Group, the parent company of Rumah123, noted that its property marketplace subsidiary currently serves more than 10 million active property seekers each month. 99 Group CEO Darius Cheung hopes the collaboration with the state-owned bank can strengthen the company’s commitment to helping more Indonesian consumers obtain their dream homes more easily. “The more complete the ecosystem we build with partners like BTN, the more people can realise their dream homes,” added Darius Cheung.
