BTN and Indosat Explore Digital Finance Collaboration

PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk. (BTN) and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat/IOH) have officially signed a memorandum of understanding to explore collaboration on digital financial services within a more integrated ecosystem. This step represents a key strategy to provide services that are more practical, relevant, and easily accessible to the public, while also accelerating financial inclusion in Indonesia. This collaboration introduces a synergistic model between the banking and telecommunications sectors, which is currently unique in Indonesia, by combining Indosat’s digital reach and connectivity with BTN’s banking service capabilities in a unified ecosystem. The initiative is driven by the public’s need for increasingly accessible digital and financial services in everyday life. Amid accelerating digitalisation, BTN and Indosat see opportunities to deliver services closer to public needs through widespread digital distribution and familiar platforms. BTN’s President Director, Nixon L.P. Napitupulu, emphasised that collaboration with digital industry players is part of BTN’s transformation strategy to strengthen ecosystem-based services. “Partnership with a digital telecommunications company like Indosat is a strategic step for BTN to expand service reach and enhance relevance in people’s daily lives. Through this approach, we aim to provide banking services that are not only available when customers need financing but also become part of everyday financial activities. The presence of BTN’s services within its partner’s digital ecosystem is expected to increase the frequency of service usage and strengthen BTN’s position as a bank that is increasingly close to the public’s digital lifestyle.
