BTN allocates Rp53.6 billion in Housing Program Credit in Bali to support three million houses initiative
PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, known as BTN, has allocated Rp53.6 billion in Housing Program Credit (KPP) in Bali through March 2026 to support the government’s target of accelerating the provision of three million houses nationwide.
“The programme has already been utilised by 179 KPP debtors,” said Bagus Hendri Setiawan, Head of the BTN Regional Office for East Java, Bali, and Nusa Tenggara, in Denpasar, Bali, on Monday.
The KPP programme, launched by the government in October 2025, is distributed through two schemes: the first targets housing developers, construction service providers, and building material traders, with credit ceilings ranging from Rp500 million to Rp5 billion at an interest rate of 5.99 per cent. This credit can be used by debtors for land acquisition, purchasing building materials, and procurement of goods and services.
The second scheme targets individual MSMEs with businesses that have been operational for at least six months, offering credit ceilings from Rp10 million to Rp500 million. The interest rate for this scheme is 6 per cent for five years, intended for house renovation, construction, or purchase.
Setiawan expressed hope that global dynamics would not significantly impact the KPP, as most components can still be sourced domestically, although he acknowledged that certain construction industry components, such as iron and steel, have been affected.
“We hope the three million houses programme can be fully absorbed because the interest rate remains unchanged, instalments are affordable, and prices are determined by the government, preventing developers from arbitrarily increasing house prices,” he added.
Meanwhile, the performance of subsidised residential mortgages (KPR) during the first quarter of 2026 also showed a positive trend amidst global dynamics, reaching Rp1.64 trillion, representing a year-on-year growth of 3.3 per cent. Accumulatively, the state-owned bank has disbursed 13,244 subsidised KPR units in Bali, serving as a major contributor to supporting housing access on the island.
To further stimulate Bali’s tourism sector, the bank is also expanding its digital services to strengthen the housing sector and the broader property and regional economic ecosystem through ‘bale’, BTN’s digital banking super-app.
“Through bale, we support ease for tourists, ranging from payments to travel, while also supporting local business actors to ensure transactions are increasingly comfortable and easy,” the young leader added.
