Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) has inaugurated 59 Cyber Incident Response Teams (TTIS) to serve as the frontline for handling cyber incidents within their respective agencies, in Depok, West Java, on Tuesday.

BSSN Head Nugroho Sulistyo Budi emphasised that cyber security and cryptography are the foundations of national digital transformation, asserting that digital government must be built securely, reliably, and to provide a real impact on society.

“This is in line with the President’s directives regarding incorporated government, digitalisation, and the continuously evolving nature of cyber threats,” said Nugroho, as quoted from a statement received in Jakarta.

He also stressed that every TTIS must thoroughly identify assets along with their associated risks and threats, protecting these assets through the strengthening of human resources, the implementation of security standards—specifically the principles of ‘security by design’ and ‘defence in depth’—and ‘resilience by architecture’.

As such, he noted, this inauguration is merely the beginning rather than the end. When an incident actually occurs, the speed of response by the TTIS becomes the key factor.

“Therefore, we must continue to strengthen the capabilities of the TTIS gradually and sustainably,” he added.

The 59 TTIS consist of 13 teams from ministries/agencies, 37 from local governments, seven from the health sector, and two from the education sector.

The formation of these TTIS aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive for every ministry, agency, and local government to immediately establish a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT/TTIS).

Strengthening TTIS capabilities is focused on six areas: governance and institutional framework, detection and monitoring, response and recovery, human resource competence and readiness, continuous maturity, and the strengthening of collaboration and networking.

Meanwhile, the Deputy for Cyber Security and Cryptography for Government and Human Development at BSSN, Sulistyo, explained that the inauguration aims to increase information security awareness among TTIS managers, provide a platform for collaboration and synergy in incident handling, and establish a unified perception regarding the formation and development of TTIS.

Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Sabam Rajagukguk, urged all participants to strengthen cyber resilience to protect digital services.

He stated that the role of the TTIS is crucial and requires special attention and support from the leadership of each entity, including clear mandates, personnel reinforcement, infrastructure/resources, and a robust work culture.

“This inauguration is part of the national effort to strengthen the foundations of digital transformation by increasing awareness and capability in cyber security across all government and human development sectors,” said Sabam.

Awards were presented through the BSSN Head’s Decree Number 581 of 2026 regarding the Sanapati Teladan Awards 2026.

The recipients of the Sanapati Teladan award include the Head of Cryptography, Communication, Informatics and Statistics Office of Bali Province, I Putu Sundika; the Head of Cryptography and Cyber Security, Communication, Informatics, and Digital Office of Central Java Province, Eny Soelastri; the Head of Cryptography and Information Security, Communication and Informatics Office of South Kalimantan Province, Sucilianita Akbar; and First Expert Computer Practitioner at the General Secretariat of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Muhammad Sidik Permana.
