South Kalimantan governor fired: Following pressure from thousands of demonstrators outside the legislative building, the South Kalimantan Legislative Council decided on Wednesday evening to dismiss Governor Sjachriel Darham. The decision was taken after a vote, with 37 in favor of the dismissal and 12 abstentions. Those abstaining were unelected Military/Police representatives and United Development Party councillors.
