PT Bank Syariah Nasional (Bank BSN) has officially become the first sharia bank and banking service provider to integrate Kartu Multi Trip (KMT) top-up functionality for PT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KCI) through the Bale Syariah by BSN application. The feature was launched at Sudirman Station, Jakarta, on Saturday (15/8/2026), coinciding with the momentum of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day anniversary.

Bank BSN President Director Alex Sofjan Noor said the integration is intended to improve efficiency and ease of mobility for Commuter Line Jabodetabek users. With this feature, users can top up their KMT balance through the banking application without worrying about running out of balance before travelling.

“The integration of Bale Syariah by BSN with KCI’s KMT is an important milestone for the domestic sharia banking industry. We are proud to be the first mobile banking to present a KMT top-up feature directly in the palm of your hand,” said Alex.

This integration is a continuation of the strategic partnership between Bank BSN and KAI Commuter that began in March 2026 through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and the launch of the KMT Co-Brand. On the same occasion, the two companies launched the KMT Co-Brand Special Edition for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day as a form of appreciation for mass transport users.

To enliven the launch, Bank BSN also held a Launching Event for KMT Top-Up via Bale Syariah. New customers who open a Bale Syariah by BSN account with an initial deposit in accordance with the terms are entitled to receive a free special edition KMT along with a top-up balance worth Rp81,000. The programme took place at Sudirman Station on 15 August 2026 and will continue at Bogor Station on 18 August 2026.

Bank BSN management hopes the service integration will serve as a foundation for delivering more sharia-based digital financial innovations connected to the mobility needs and activities of urban communities.
