BSN Partners with REI to Develop Sharia Banking Services and Housing Ecosystem
Bandar Lampung – PT Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN) is partnering with Realestat Indonesia (REI) to develop sharia banking services and strengthen an integrated and sustainable housing ecosystem in Indonesia. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) took place in Bandar Lampung on Tuesday (5 May 2026), coinciding with REI’s 54th anniversary celebration.
BSN’s President Director, Alex Sofjan Noor, stated that the synergy aims to support the optimisation of sharia-based housing financing through the provision of innovative, transparent banking products in line with sharia principles.
“BSN’s commitment to positioning the property sector as a key driver of national sharia economic growth aligns with REI’s role in encouraging developers to provide quality housing for the community,” said Alex during the MoU signing with REI and while attending the REI anniversary event in Bandar Lampung, as quoted in his statement on Wednesday, 6 May 2026.
The scope of the cooperation includes developing housing financing products, education and outreach programmes for developers and the public, as well as support for integrated housing projects with sharia financial systems. This synergy is expected to enhance sharia financial inclusion and expand public access to decent and affordable housing.
According to Alex, this strategic expansion is driven by BSN’s impressive financial performance, showing positive growth trends up to the end of March 2026.
This growth momentum is evident in the sharp 22% increase in financing disbursement to Rp56.5 trillion, which has now benefited over 1.34 million customers across the country.
As part of the BTN Group, BSN targets the disbursement of 73,700 subsidised mortgage units in 2026, a 34.8% increase from the previous year’s realisation. For the commercial mortgage segment, Alex explained that BSN offers competitive margins starting at 2.65% fixed for three years, along with the innovative BSN Golden Deal product that integrates home ownership with gold investment.
“BSN wants to be present not only when the house is ready for sale, but from the project development process, land financing, to when the house is owned by the community,” Alex revealed.
The company also provides digital infrastructure support through the Bale Syariah by BSN platform, which has recorded a transaction volume of Rp2.84 trillion from 1.2 million transactions up to April 2026.
