BSI's MSME Financing Reaches IDR 25.69 Trillion, Growing 14 Percent
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) recorded financing for the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) segment reaching IDR 25.69 trillion up to April 2026. This value grew 13.67 percent year-on-year (yoy) amidst dynamic economic conditions. The financing growth was supported by a number of sectors directly related to public activity, such as agriculture and plantations, wholesale and retail trade, and education services. BSI Retail Banking Director Kemas Erwan Husainy stated that the small and medium enterprise segment is one of the company’s focuses because it plays a major role in driving the national economy and creating jobs. “We are ready to boost the small and medium segment in line with Bank Syariah Indonesia’s commitment to contributing to the national economy, especially pro-people sectors that expand employment,” Erwan said in a statement on Thursday (18/6/2026). According to him, MSMEs have great potential to develop if they obtain appropriate access to financing and mentoring. Therefore, BSI continues to expand financing distribution while upholding the precautionary principle. This is reflected in the maintained quality of financing. Up to April 2026, the non-performing financing (NPF) ratio for the MSME segment was recorded at 1.80 percent, an improvement compared to the previous period’s 1.88 percent. In addition to expanding financing, BSI is also strengthening digital transformation for small and medium business actors. One initiative is through the integrated cash management system service BEWIZE by BSI, aimed at assisting business management and financial record-keeping. BSI also runs various mentoring programmes for MSMEs, ranging from business training, business matching, BSI UMKM Center services, to halal certification facilitation. The company hopes these steps can help MSME players increase competitiveness in both domestic and global markets.
