BSI's Digital Qurban Transactions Hit Rp22.5 Billion in 1447H Eid al-Adha
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BSI recorded digital qurban purchases through its digital services and financing cards amounting to Rp22.5 billion during the Eid al-Adha 1447H period.
The transactions comprised Rp2.5 billion from the Byond by BSI app and nearly Rp20 billion via the BSI Hasanah Card.
BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo stated the transaction growth reflects increasing public adoption of digital services for qurban rituals.
He noted the Byond app simplifies the process of fulfilling qurban obligations, from animal selection to ensuring slaughter adheres to Islamic principles.
The BSI Hasanah Card was also praised for offering customers flexible payment options through sharia-compliant instalments.
BSI collaborates with 25 official zakat agencies for qurban distribution.
“Customers can rest assured with BSI, as the animals are purchased from licensed slaughterhouses and health-checked, as required by Islamic guidelines,” he added.
This year, BSI prepared 24,053 qurban animals for distribution across Indonesia, including remote, border, and outermost (3T) areas and disaster-affected regions.
This represents a 57% increase from last year’s 15,272 animals.
The distribution is expected to benefit over 600,000 people.
Anggoro stated BSI’s qurban programme not only serves religious and social purposes but also drives grassroots economic growth.
The bank partnered with 37 local farmers for animal procurement, including 19 UMKMs and BSI-assisted villages.
