BSI to Offer 5,250 Scholarships for Indonesian Students
Jakarta, aktual.com – PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) is once again expanding access to education for young Indonesians through the BSI Scholarship program.
In 2026, BSI aims to distribute scholarships to 5,250 students from underprivileged families who demonstrate academic achievement and leadership potential.
The program is part of BSI’s commitment to ensuring that economic limitations do not prevent talented young people from continuing their education.
Since its launch in 2021, the BSI Scholarship has reached over 10,162 beneficiaries, consisting of 7,962 students and 2,200 pupils.
A total of 1,500 awardees have also graduated and are now working in various national companies or continuing their education at several leading state universities in Indonesia.
BSI’s Director, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, said that the program is a form of long-term investment in creating a superior generation for Indonesia.
“There should be no bright children who lose their future because of costs,” said Anggoro, in Jakarta, Friday (May 15, 2026).
According to him, the growth of Islamic banking business must also go hand in hand with social benefits through corporate zakat.
“Zakat is an instrument for empowering people through education,” he said.
The BSI Scholarship has seven program categories, ranging from student, excellence, inspiration, talent, achievement, affirmation to Talenta KIP-K BSI.
The student program is aimed at high-achieving high school students from low-income families, while the student category is intended for active students from BSI partner campuses.
In addition to tuition fees and living expenses, scholarship recipients also receive mentoring in the form of leadership training, character building, Islamic economic literacy and career preparation for final year students.
BSI also opens up opportunities for recruiting employees for awardees according to their respective competencies. With this approach, the program is expected to produce graduates who are academically superior and have social awareness.
Throughout 2025, BSI was recorded as one of the largest corporate zakat distributors in Indonesia with a total distribution of IDR 289 billion through the National Amil Zakat Agency to strengthen the economy of the people.
The distribution benefited more than 12,500 beneficiaries in the field of education, about 223,000 beneficiaries in the field of humanitarian, as well as thousands of other beneficiaries in the economic, health and da’wah sectors.
This year, the BSI Scholarship, which is run in collaboration with BSI Maslahat, is once again opening opportunities for 3,750 students and 1,500 pupils throughout Indonesia. Registration information can be accessed via BSI Scholarship (http://linktr.ee/BSI_Scholarship).
