PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) is targeting Hajj Savings funds to reach Rp 17.6 trillion by the end of 2026, up from the realisation of Rp 15.9 trillion at the end of 2025. The company is also aiming to increase the number of Hajj Savings accounts to 8.4 million from 6.9 million at the end of last year.

Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) of Funding & Transaction at BSI, Ida Triana Widawati, stated that Hajj Savings is one of the largest contributors to the company’s low-cost funds or third-party funds (DPK). For this reason, BSI has launched the ‘Nabung Haji Dapat Hadiah Umrah’ (Save for Hajj, Win an Umrah Prize) programme to boost public interest in preparing for the Hajj pilgrimage.

‘Currently, we are already the largest Islamic bank and also a state-owned enterprise. One of the drivers for increasing DPK is the accumulation of low-cost funds through savings. The savings product that makes the largest contribution is Hajj Savings,’ Ida said after the departure of Umrah programme winners at Wisma Haji dan Umrah Indonesia (NRA Tour & Travel), Mampang Square, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/7/2026).

As of May 2026, BSI’s Hajj Savings funds were recorded at Rp 16.25 trillion, growing 17.7 percent year-on-year (yoy), with 7.2 million accounts. According to Ida, this achievement still has the potential to increase as data after May has not yet been published.

To support this growth, BSI is partnering with NRA Tour & Travel as a partner for organising Umrah trips. Ida noted that NRA was chosen because it has long cooperated with BSI and has a good track record and service quality. ‘We hope that with this collaboration, we can serve the guests of Allah better,’ she said.

The ‘Nabung Haji Dapat Hadiah Umrah’ programme can be joined by opening a BSI Hajj Savings account. Customers are required to maintain a minimum average balance of Rp 1 million. Each multiple of the balance earns one point, while the minimum balance at the end of the month must remain Rp 5 million. The programme, first held in 2025, runs from 1 August to 31 December, with the draw conducted in February 2026. Ida said BSI is open to increasing the number of prizes if public enthusiasm continues to rise.

In addition, BSI is also preparing to open a service branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to strengthen services for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. ‘So far, there has been no service there. Hopefully, with BSI’s presence, we can serve more completely because Indonesians are certainly more familiar,’ Ida hoped.
