Jakarta — PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) is strengthening all its e-channel services, particularly the BYOND by BSI superapp, to anticipate a surge in transactions during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.

During Ramadan through Eid, the bank expects average e-channel transaction growth of 24 per cent month-on-month (mtm).

BSI’s Director of Sales and Distribution Anton Sukarna stated in Jakarta on Monday that transaction trends typically show significant increases in digital services before and during Eid, particularly for payments, purchases, transfers, and zakat and waqf (ziswaf) services.

“Eid momentum always drives a surge in digital channel transactions. Therefore, we are increasing our information technology system capacity, conducting real-time transaction monitoring, and ensuring all e-channels operate optimally so customers can transact quickly, securely, and comfortably,” said Anton.

BSI is optimising digital services through the BYOND by BSI superapp, which provides various Islamic banking features, ranging from cardless cash withdrawal, ziswaf transactions, zakat calculator, nearest mosque information and qibla direction, to gold banking services for purchasing and transferring gold balance in real time.

The bank is also strengthening BSI QRIS, EDC merchant services, BEWIZE, remittance, and BSI Call Centre 14040 as part of its digital ecosystem.

To reach communities across the archipelago, BSI is integrating digital services with its physical network and more than 126,000 BSI Agents nationwide, serving cash deposits and withdrawals, transfers, payments, and purchases of daily necessities.

To support digital services, the bank has prepared sufficient liquidity of approximately 45 trillion rupiah to anticipate public cash needs, with peak transactions expected seven days before Eid al-Fitr.

These funds are distributed through more than 6,000 ATMs/CRMs and 1,049 branch outlets across Indonesia.

BSI is also participating in Bank Indonesia’s Semarak Rupiah Ramadan and Berkah Eid al-Fitr (SERAMBI) 2026 programme, running until 15 March 2026, by providing currency exchange services at 178 points and integrated services at 41 public spaces.

As digital activity increases, BSI advises customers to remain alert to potential fraud by accessing information only through official company channels.

With a digital-first strategy integrated with its physical network, BSI targets stable, fast, and secure transaction services for the public during Eid, in line with growing adoption of digital financial services.
