Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Dukuh Atas LRT Jabodebek Station has officially been renamed to Dukuh Atas LRT Dukuh Atas Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This is part of a naming rights agreement between PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. and PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (MITJ).

BSI Chief Executive Anggoro Eko Cahyo said the choice of Dukuh Atas was based on its status as a hub of public transport integration connecting various modes, from the LRT to the KRL Commuter Line.

“BSI wants to be closer to the community. Dukuh Atas is where people work, create, and earn a living. That is where we want Bank Syariah Indonesia to be present,” Anggoro said after the launching of the Dukuh Atas LRT Station Bank Syariah Indonesia, on Friday (22 May 2026).

Not only does the naming rights move strengthen the company’s branding, BSI also aims to promote Islamic financial literacy through the public transit area. The largest Islamic bank in Indonesia will, among other things, offer an gold savings account targeting young people and urban workers.

“We hope that with this station, many people will use it, especially young people, who will start saving gold. Gold is an instrument that is resilient in the face of circumstances. During Covid-19, during monetary crises, gold remained robust,” he said.

With this naming rights strategy, BSI targets up to two million gold savers this year. Anggoro is optimistic this figure could rise with high levels of mobility in the Dukuh Atas area.

“This year we target two million gold savers,” Anggoro said.

MITJ Chief Executive Fuad I.Z. Fachroeddin described BSI’s naming rights decision as a strategic move. Dukuh Atas Station is a primary destination point for two main Jabodebek LRT corridors, the Cibubur-Dukuh Atas and Bekasi-Dukuh Atas routes.

“This station is not only a transit station, but also a primary destination for LRT Jabodebek journeys. The name Dukuh Atas Bank Syariah Indonesia will continue to be heard in every voice announcement on trains from the 18 stations in operation,” Fuad said.

Fuad outlined that, up to 20 May 2026, LRT Jabodebek passenger numbers had exceeded 12.4 million. Therefore, the presence of BSI branding within the transit area is viewed as having strong strategic value.

In addition, MITJ has implemented a range of new naming elements, from 147 totems, 118 transport maps, 268 wayfinding signs, 294 signage on platform screen doors, to information on routes across 31 LRT Jabodebek train sets.

At the same event, PT Kereta Api Indonesia Portfolio Management and Information Technology Director I Gede Darmayusa said the naming rights partnership is part of KAI’s business transformation to strengthen non-ticket or non-fare revenue.

“We cannot rely only on passenger revenue. There are many assets that can be optimised so that income can be reinvested in modernising facilities, infrastructure, safety, and passenger comfort,” he said.

Gede noted that KAI now views passengers as a strategic asset that drives economic activity around stations. Therefore, KAI wants stations not only to be transit points but also community hubs.

“We want stations to be destinations. People come not only to board trains, but also to gather, work, and participate in activities,” he added.
