PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) has stated that the company remains optimistic it can meet its double-digit financing growth target of 12-15 percent by the end of 2026.

“Of course with good quality, cost of credit below 1 percent, and hopefully our margin can still be maintained by keeping a balance between yield and cost of funds, accompanied by fee-based income growth which seems to remain very good in the first half of 2026,” said BSI Director of Finance & Strategy Ade Cahyo Nugroho in response to media questions at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday.

As of the end of June 2026, BSI’s total financing grew 15.98 percent year-on-year to Rp340 trillion. This growth was accompanied by gross and net non-performing financing ratios improving to 1.8 percent and 0.33 percent respectively, while BSI’s cost of credit improved to 0.62 percent.

Meanwhile, third-party funds grew 21.81 percent year-on-year to reach Rp393 trillion. The company recorded an improvement in cost of funds to 2.19 percent as of the end of June 2026.

Fee-based income reached Rp4.06 trillion, growing approximately 38.15 percent year-on-year. This achievement was mainly supported by the gold business, which recorded fee-based income of Rp1.3 trillion, growing 92.45 percent year-on-year.

With double-digit growth in financing and third-party funds in the first half of this year, Ade Cahyo said the company will continue to maintain consistency and sustainability of these achievements.

“Looking at what happened in July, it seems demand for financing, especially consumer financing, is still good, and is even starting to show improvement in several products,” he said.

As of the end of June 2026, consumer, gold and card segment financing was the main support for BSI’s financing with a share of 55.65 percent of total financing. This segment grew 16.70 percent year-on-year to reach Rp189.28 trillion.

Specifically for consumer financing, this segment grew 9.30 percent year-on-year to reach Rp157.9 trillion. Meanwhile, the gold business grew 80.52 percent year-on-year to reach Rp30.48 trillion.

On the liquidity side, although the industry remains quite tight, Ade Cahyo said the company believes there are opportunities for third-party fund growth from hajj savings and gold savings.

BSI’s third-party fund performance as of the end of the second quarter of 2026 was supported by savings which grew 22.32 percent year-on-year to reach Rp173 trillion.

Payroll savings reached Rp61.5 trillion, growing 20.53 percent year-on-year, while hajj and umrah savings reached Rp16.7 trillion, growing 17.21 percent year-on-year.

“Looking at what we achieved in the first half, especially regarding significant financing and third-party fund growth, we see the main driving engine is BSI’s advantage as the only bank in Indonesia that operates as both a sharia bank and a gold bank. This is certainly a driver of BSI’s business performance through the first half of 2026,” said Ade Cahyo.
