BSI hopes partnership with LRT will push gold-savings account holders to two million
Jakarta – PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) hopes that the naming rights collaboration with PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek (MITJ) at the LRT Dukuh Atas Station can spur growth in gold-savings customers to two million this year.
BSI Chief Executive Anggoro Eko Cahyo said that the group currently has one million gold-savings account customers, most of whom are young people.
“We see that this segment (young people) are the main users of public transport, including the LRT,” Anggoro Eko Cahyo said at the Launch of LRT Dukuh Atas Bank Syariah Indonesia in Jakarta, on Friday.
He also viewed the LRT station as a strategic location to broaden public awareness and understanding of gold savings services, thereby boosting the number of the company’s bullion customers.
“So, when asked how much of an increase we aim for in gold savings, this year we are targeting two million gold savers, one of the strategic points being (Dukuh Atas LRT Station) like this,” he added.
He urged the public to start saving gold now, noting that gold prices are relatively more affordable than a few months ago.
He stated that gold is an instrument with resilience in various conditions, such as during COVID-19 and monetary crises.
“And we invite the public to start saving gold today, why? Because gold prices are beginning to plateau. So please start,” said Anggoro.
MITJ Chief Executive Fuad IZ Fachroeddin said that Dukuh Atas LRT Station is the most strategic point in the modern transport network in the Jabodetabek area because it connects five transport modes.
The five public transport modes are LRT Dukuh Atas Station, MRT Dukuh Atas Station, KRL Sudirman Station, BNI City Rail Station, and Transjakarta Galunggung Halt.
“So it is highly strategic for Bank Syariah Indonesia to take the naming rights position at Dukuh Atas LRT Station, in addition to being a prominent financial district in Jakarta,” Fuad said.
