BSI Explore 2026 to Begin, Involving Students in Village Community Service Programme

The involvement of students in community service is a crucial part of the learning process in higher education. Through fieldwork, students hone their skills while gaining an understanding of community needs. Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI), a digital creative campus, is once again organising BSI Explore 2026, a community service programme involving selected students who will be deployed directly to partner villages in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions. The programme is designed as a platform for students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during their studies. In its 2026 implementation, participants will be placed in 38 partner villages for one month, working in teams of five to carry out work programmes tailored to the needs of the local community. BSI Explore 2026 Programme Chair Ade Suriyadi explained that the programme is a form of experiential learning implementation. Students not only learn in the classroom but also gain the opportunity to interact directly with the community. He stated that BSI Explore 2026 is a flagship community service programme organised by UBSI. ‘This programme is systematically designed to provide selected students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained during their studies directly within the community,’ Ade said, as quoted on Friday (17/7/2026). He added that each student group will receive guidance from a Field Supervisor Lecturer to ensure the work programme runs according to plan and produces outcomes beneficial to both the community and the students. ‘During one month, participants will be placed in teams across 38 partner villages to carry out the planned work programmes. Each team, consisting of five students, will be under the guidance of one Field Supervisor Lecturer to ensure the achievement of the programme’s objectives and outcomes,’ Ade explained. Ade expressed hope that through BSI Explore 2026, students will develop their abilities to adapt, collaborate, and solve problems in a real-world environment. Furthermore, this programme serves as a means for the university to strengthen the contribution of higher education in supporting development and community empowerment across various regions.
