JAKARTA – Gold investment by BSI is becoming a primary focus in enhancing Sharia financial literacy in Indonesia. Therefore, Bank Syariah Indonesia is providing easy access to gold investment with affordable denominations for the young generation.

The trend of continuously rising gold prices in recent years has made this instrument increasingly popular among the public. Additionally, its nature as a safe-haven asset and inflation-resistant makes gold a secure investment choice.

BSI’s Director of Finance & Strategy, Ade Cahyo Nugroho, emphasised the importance of investment education for the young generation. “Indonesian youth must be encouraged to become investment-savvy in Sharia principles through easy, safe methods with good prospects,” he stated.

According to him, the approach to young people is done directly in a relaxed and relevant manner. One of them is through the concept of gold investment that is as easy as buying a cup of coffee to make it easier to understand and access.

Currently, the gold investment service can be accessed through the BYOND by BSI mobile banking application. Customers can start buying gold from a nominal amount of Rp50,000, with prices following the market on the transaction day.

Another advantage is that digitally purchased gold can still be printed in physical form as needed. Additionally, gold can be transferred, pledged, or instalment-purchased for customers who wish to own larger amounts.

BSI records that the gold business has become one of the main drivers of the company’s growth. Up to February 2026, BSI manages 22.5 tonnes of gold with the number of customers increasing by up to 400 percent in the last year.

Through various literacy programmes with OJK and educational institutions, BSI continues to expand Sharia financial inclusion. Thus, the young generation is expected to be increasingly prepared to build their future through early investment.
