PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (Persero) (BSI) closed the first half of 2026 with increasingly solid performance, driven by the company’s success in strengthening its technology foundation and digital capabilities.

BSI’s strategic investments have begun to show tangible results through an increase in customer numbers to the highest level in the bank’s history (all-time high).

The growth in BSI’s customer base serves as important capital for expanding business opportunities and reinforcing sustainable growth.

As of June 2026, BSI’s customer count reached 24.3 million, the highest since the bank was established. The upward trend in customer growth has been visible since January 2026.

By May 2026, following the completion of the technology transformation, customer numbers grew by more than 200,000 per month.

This growth indicates rising public trust in BSI’s services, while also enlarging the potential for business development through increased low-cost funds, financing, digital transactions, wealth management, gold business, and hajj and umrah services.

This is further reinforced by the combination of a dual licence as both a sharia bank and a bullion bank, which has driven growth in customers accessing services through digital channels.

BSI President Director Anggoro Eko Cahyo said the substantial investments made by the company in recent years were aimed not only at increasing the capacity of its information technology systems, but also at building a faster, safer, and more reliable transaction experience for millions of customers.

According to him, the strengthening of technology capabilities has significantly increased BSI’s system capacity, enabling it to accommodate the continuously rising volume of transactions and number of digital users.

The increasingly robust technology foundation serves as the basis for BSI to continue developing digital services through BYOND by BSI, which has now become the main channel for customer transactions with various sharia banking services.
