Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRIS) has been talking about risk management amid prolonged stock-market volatility. BSI’s Director of Risk Management, Grandhis Helmi Harumansyah, said the risk exposure from capital market volatility affecting BSI, particularly relating to gold and interest rates, is something they continuously monitor.

‘So we always conduct what is called stress testing. That’s our tool to manage how our risk exposures can be kept within the risk boundaries we have accepted,’ Grandhis said after the Launch of LRT Dukuh Atas Bank Syariah Indonesia, on Friday (22/5/2026).

Regarding the correction that also affected BRIS’s shares, the largest sharia-compliant bank in Indonesia is working to maintain the company’s performance. Grandhis noted that they are ensuring the quality of financing assets remains well-protected. In this way, investors are expected to maintain trust in BRIS’s shares.

‘From a risk-management perspective, we ensure that the company’s performance stays within the risk boundaries that are kept in check. So this will translate into investor confidence in our shares. Investors will, of course, look at the company’s performance,’ Grandhis explained.

He went on to say that BSI continues to engage with BPI Danantara and BRIS’s shareholders to comply with the 15% free float requirement. The BRIS free float level currently stands at 9.91%.

‘We are following the directive from Danantara as the controlling shareholder. So we will certainly continue to discuss with Danantara and the other shareholders,’ Grandhis said.

As a reminder, as part of capital-market reform, PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) has officially changed the free float rules by raising the minimum threshold to 15% of total listed shares. The policy came into effect on Wednesday (1/4/2026), with the transition period aligned to the market capitalisation of issuers as of 31 March 2026.

For reference, BRIS shares have fallen 10.53% over the past month. In trading today, Friday (22/5/2026), BRIS shares declined 0.83% by the close of session 1.
