BSI (BRIS) Records Rp382 Trillion in Third-Party Funds, Boosted by Dubai Branch

PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRIS) has recorded third-party funds (DPK) reaching Rp382 trillion, representing a 17.90% year-on-year growth as of April 2026. On the financing side, BSI achieved double-digit growth of 15.59% year-on-year, reaching Rp332 trillion.

This growth has pushed BSI’s total assets to Rp452 trillion, a 12.17% year-on-year increase. Supported by low-cost funds and healthy financing, the Company’s performance remains solid, driven by business operations in both Indonesia and abroad.

Since 2022, BSI has maintained a branch office in Dubai, UAE. This move marked the Company’s initial step into penetrating global markets, particularly within the Middle East region.

Firman Nugraha, Director of Treasury & International Banking at BSI, stated that the company sees immense business potential in the UAE and Middle East markets. “We are optimistic that the business growth of BSI’s Dubai Overseas Service Branch can continue to grow positively this year,” he noted in a written statement on Monday (15/6/2026).

Firman added that the Middle East currently serves as an international hub, as many Indonesian-related and international companies maintain representations in Dubai. Consequently, BSI’s presence in Dubai is expected to act as a bridge for financial services and strengthen export-import cooperation with various companies in Indonesia.

As of April 2026, the asset growth of BSI Dubai has increased by 80% year-on-year, dominated by corporate financing. In addition to financing, BSI Dubai also facilitates and provides treasury services, trade finance, and documentary collection for exporters and importers engaged in transactions between the UAE and Indonesia, or vice versa.

Currently, Bank Syariah Indonesia is preparing to open a branch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to tap into the halal ecosystem, including the Hajj and Umrah ecosystems. As the world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, Indonesia contributes significantly to the number of Hajj and Umrah pilgrims visiting Saudi Arabia. Every year, Indonesia sends an average of 203,000 Hajj pilgrims, and approximately 170,000 or 83% of these pilgrims are processed through BSI.

Regarding Umrah pilgrims, according to 2025 Siskopatuh data, there were 1.6 million pilgrims across Indonesia, with 84% of them utilising BSI services.
