Indonesia’s largest sharia bank, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BRIS), recorded an attributable profit for the year of Rp2.2 trillion throughout the first quarter of 2026. This achievement surged 17.10% year-on-year (yoy). According to its financial report, BSI posted financing income up 7% yoy to Rp7.58 trillion over the first three months of the year. Profit-sharing for investment account owners was successfully reduced by 11.17% yoy to Rp2.06 trillion. As a result, income after profit-sharing distribution rose 15.77% yoy to Rp5.53 trillion, from Rp4.77 trillion a year earlier. In its intermediation function, BSI recorded total financing disbursement of Rp324.17 trillion, up 14.43% yoy as of March 2026. Financing asset quality improved, as reflected in the gross non-performing financing (NPF) ratio of 1.80%, down from 1.88% a year prior. Meanwhile, the net NPF also declined to 0.38%. On the funding side, total third-party funds (DPK) reached Rp376.79 trillion, up 18% yoy. BSI’s liquidity also eased, as shown by the financing to deposit ratio (FDR) of 87.14% for Q1 2026. This figure decreased from 89.87% a year earlier. BSI’s total assets stood at Rp460.13 trillion in Q1 2026.
