BSI (BRIS) Prepares QRIS Services in Saudi Arabia
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BRIS) is preparing cross-border Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) services in Saudi Arabia.
BSI’s Director of Sales & Distribution, Anton Sukarna, stated that this step aligns with the state-owned sharia bank’s strategy to expand abroad.
“Currently, we are developing the use of QRIS in Saudi Arabia in line with BSI’s overseas expansion strategy and enhancing services for BSI customers in Saudi Arabia,” he said during the virtual Press Conference on BSI’s First Quarter 2026 Performance on Tuesday (12/5/2026).
Anton explained that the development of QRIS in Saudi Arabia is also aimed at improving services for Hajj and Umrah customers. At the same time, this effort is expected to drive digital transactions at BSI.
“This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening inclusive and relevant digital services that meet community needs and support sustainable digital transaction growth,” Anton emphasised.
He detailed that BSI’s QRIS is currently usable in six countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, and China.
On the same occasion, Anton outlined that BSI’s QRIS merchants have reached 574,000, with 24.2 million transactions and a volume of IDR 1.7 trillion.
Meanwhile, the BYOND by BSI super app has garnered 6.55 million users since its launch in November 2024, with 199 million transactions and a volume of IDR 223 trillion.
