Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) has received global recognition for its sharia custodian services. As of December 2025, assets managed by BSI as a custodian bank surpassed Rp128 trillion, rising 12.88 per cent compared to the previous year.

The number of retail clients also showed significant growth, with more than 64,000 custodian accounts representing a 73 per cent year-on-year increase.

On the back of this performance, BSI once again received the international award for Best Islamic Custodian Bank at the 19th Annual Transaction Banking Awards held in Singapore. This marks the third consecutive year BSI has won the award in the same category.

“BSI’s Custodian Bank is the largest sharia custodian bank in Indonesia, a strategic position that provides added value in developing the national sharia financial ecosystem,” said BSI Director of Treasury and International Banking, Firman Nugraha.

“BSI is the first sharia bank to be registered as a custodian bank. This optimism is supported by the Islamic ecosystem market share, which still has considerable potential to be optimised,” he added.

BSI positions itself as a one-stop solution through various sharia-based capital market services, including safekeeping, fund services, trusteeship, and agency services.

The operational reliability of BSI’s Custodian Bank is supported by a professional team with more than ten years of experience in the capital markets industry, reinforced by a robust and integrated custodian system that ensures security and efficiency in every business activity.

Among BSI’s strategic initiatives going forward is the bank’s readiness to participate in the gold business ecosystem, particularly in the administration of a Gold Exchange-Traded Fund (Gold ETF) Syariah, as part of strengthening sharia investment instruments in the capital market.
