Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan are strengthening their collaboration to expand access to employment social security membership through the BSI Agen network across Aceh.

Regional CEO of BSI Regional I Aceh, Imsak Ramadhan, said in Banda Aceh on Thursday that the collaboration is a strategic step to bring services closer to the public through the BSI Agen network spread across various regions.

According to him, the presence of BSI Agen not only widens access to Islamic banking services but can also serve as a means of delivering services with broader benefits for the public, including access to employment social security protection.

“We welcome this collaboration as a form of shared commitment to improving financial inclusion and social protection for the people of Aceh,” said Imsak at the BSI Aceh Landmark Building in Banda Aceh.

On the same occasion, Senior Vice President of Alternative Channel & Government Project Group at BSI, Gunawan Arief Hartoyo, said BSI Agen serves as an extension of BSI’s services in supporting the expansion of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership.

Gunawan said that through the BSI Agen application, the public can easily register as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants without having to visit a branch office.

“BSI Agen, as an extension of BSI’s services, can also help more people gain protection by registering for employment social security membership through the BSI Agen application. With a network reaching village and district levels, we are optimistic that this collaboration can extend the reach of services to workers, including micro-enterprise operators and recipients of the People’s Business Credit (KUR),” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Special Program Membership and Agency at BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Mintje Wattu, affirmed that employment social security protection is an important instrument in improving workers’ welfare while supporting government efforts to eradicate extreme poverty.

“We fully support making it easier for BSI Agents and People’s Business Credit (KUR) recipients to become BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants. This collaboration will benefit BSI, BSI Agents, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, and all workers in Aceh Province,” said Mintje.

BSI and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan hope that through this collaboration, more workers — particularly informal workers, MSME players, and KUR recipients — will gain access to employment social security programmes. “The presence of services through BSI Agen is expected to expand membership coverage to communities in areas that have not been optimally served,” he said.

The collaboration is also part of BSI and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan’s commitment to supporting improved financial inclusion and the expansion of national social protection coverage through the use of an agency service network closer to the public.
