Seven die in crash in Madura: A cargo van crashed late on Friday
with a pickup truck full of children, killing seven. The accident
took place in Blegah, 40 kilometers east of the town of Bangkalan
in Madura, East Java, local police said. Bangkalan Police chief
Adj. Sr. Comr. Syamsul Hidayat said it was a head-on crash,
causing the children to be thrown from the pickup. He did not say
how many children there were, and it was not immediately clear
whether all of the dead were children.
