BSA Logistics (WBSA) Prepares Rp215 Billion Acquisition to Expand into Sea Freight
PT BSA Logistics Indonesia Tbk (WBSA) is preparing to acquire sea freight company PT Bermuda Inovasi Logistik (BIL) in a deal valued at up to Rp215 billion. The corporate action has received shareholder approval through an Independent Shareholders General Meeting (RUPSI) held by the company on Friday (19/6/2026).
“This acquisition marks an important milestone in the company’s post-IPO strategy, where this step is key for us in realising our vision as the most integrated and reliable logistics provider in Indonesia,” said President Director Edwin Wibowo during the company’s Public Expose held after the RUPSI.
According to Edwin, the acquisition of 99.99 percent of PT BIL’s shares will be fully funded from the proceeds of the Initial Public Offering (IPO) conducted earlier in 2026. Through this expansion, WBSA hopes to quickly take control of a sea freight business that reaches all parts of Indonesia, while opening a new revenue stream for the company from the sea freight segment.
“Indonesia is an archipelagic nation, so the ability to integrate land transport, sea transport, and warehousing services into a single integrated logistics solution is our competitive advantage in the eyes of corporate customers,” Edwin said.
PT BIL is a non-operational holding entity that owns an operational company with a network of more than 200 barges and coverage across the entire archipelago. By acquiring PT BIL, WBSA expects to further strengthen its long-term strategy of expanding its business base while complementing its existing service portfolio.
Moreover, this expansion also opens up business diversification for the company into primary sectors such as mining and upstream commodities, while strengthening market penetration outside Java. This integration is believed to generate operational and commercial synergies. With full control over the entire end-to-end logistics chain, WBSA is confident it can improve overall service quality while increasing logistics cost efficiency.
“Ultimately, we hope this will drive an increase in business scale, improved profitability, and strengthen the company’s market share in the B2B logistics segment,” Edwin stated. He also emphasised that this acquisition is not merely a business expansion, but a strategic investment to support long-term growth as an integrated logistics player while creating sustainable value for shareholders.
With a larger business scale and door-to-door capability from upstream to downstream, WBSA will have much stronger competitiveness to build connectivity throughout Indonesia and enhance the competitiveness of the national supply chain. “We believe WBSA will become an engine for growth that grows in tandem with the success of our customers, partners, and the progress of the Indonesian economy,” Edwin concluded.
