Brutal Robbery at Luxury Home in Menteng: 500 Grams of Gold Stolen
A robbery took place at a house in the elite Menteng area of Central Jakarta on Tuesday (16/6). During the incident, the victim was held captive and stabbed by the perpetrators. “The initial information is that it was a robbery,” said Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Roby Heri Saputra when contacted on Thursday (18/6). Roby revealed that the victim, identified by the initials MAH, was not the homeowner but rather a guest visiting the house owned by witness T. “He was a colleague from the same company; the house belongs to the witness, not the victim,” he stated. According to witness accounts, Roby said the robbery was allegedly carried out by two perpetrators. During the incident, the perpetrators suddenly entered the house and immediately attacked the victim, making off with gold belonging to witness T. As a result of the attack, the victim sustained seven stab wounds to the neck and back. The victim was reportedly in critical condition and is still receiving intensive care at the hospital. Separately, Menteng Metro Police Chief AKBP Braiel Arnold Rondonuwu disclosed that the perpetrators managed to steal 500 grams of gold belonging to the homeowner. “The material loss is currently estimated at 500 grams of gold,” he said. Braiel stated that his team is still conducting investigations and pursuing the robbery suspects. “The case is currently under investigation and inquiry, assisted by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Polda Metro Jaya Violent Crimes Sub-Directorate,” he added.
