Brutal Mugging Incident in Bandung Captured on CCTV

A brutal mugging involving the assault of a man in front of a grocery store in Gang Latif II, Mandalajati, Bandung, West Java, on Sunday (31/5/2026), was captured on CCTV and has since gone viral on social media. The victim reportedly pleaded for mercy, but the perpetrators ignored his pleas.

As seen in the footage, the man was assaulted by a group of individuals using blunt objects. AKBP Anton, Head of Criminal Investigation at the Bandung City Police, confirmed the incident, stating that investigators have visited the crime scene to gather information.

He further noted that the victim has filed a police report and the case is being handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) of the Bandung City Police Criminal Investigation Unit. This is because both the perpetrators and the victim are believed to be minors.

Investigations are currently ongoing. Anton emphasised that the handling of the case must be conducted with caution due to the age of the parties involved, noting that specific legal mechanisms must be followed. Additionally, assistance and guidance will be provided to both the victim and the perpetrators throughout the process.
