A group of individuals, suspected to be debt collectors, displayed brutal behaviour by stabbing a lawyer named Bastian Sori (40) in Bencongan Village, Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency, while attempting to repossess his Toyota Fortuner due to unpaid installments.

The incident was recorded in an amateur video and went viral on social media. The video shows two men entering a white car with license plate B-2540-JUN before speeding away.

“Hey, this is a robbery. Please help, these are debt collectors, robbers… robbers… hey, robbers,” a woman shouts in the video, as seen by detikcom on Tuesday (24/2/2026).

Another video shows the victim already in a room, holding his blood-soaked stomach.

“My husband has been stabbed. Police, please help, my husband has been stabbed, please… oh my,” the victim’s wife cries hysterically.

The video’s narration states that the incident occurred at the victim’s residence, in the Karawaci area, Tangerang, on Monday (23/2). It is said that the suspects came to the victim’s house with the intention of repossessing his car.

However, the victim refused, arguing that the procedure did not comply with legal regulations. This led to an argument that resulted in the victim being stabbed.

Police Intervene

The Chief of Police for South Tangerang, AKBP Boy Jumalolo, stated that the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang Police is conducting an investigation. In addition to crime scene investigations, the police are also questioning several witnesses.

“Several witnesses have been questioned to take action and arrest the arrogant debt collectors,” said Boy Jumalolo, as reported by Antara.

In addition, Boy Jumalolo has also visited the victim, who is being treated for stab wounds at the Tangerang Regency General Hospital.

“We will take firm action against the group of debt collectors who are causing unrest in the South Tangerang Police area,” he said.
