The suspected burning of three students at an Islamic boarding school in Batukliang District, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been revealed after video footage of the victims went viral on social media. In a video from a Facebook account, a victim is seen crying in pain, displaying various burn wounds wrapped in bandages at a hospital. The footage, which has garnered significant engagement online, shows family members attempting to comfort the victim, who reported intense pain in their torso and legs.

Joko Jumadi, Chairman of the Child Protection Agency (LPA) of Mataram City, confirmed the incident, noting that while the event occurred in November 2025, it only gained widespread attention recently due to the circulating video. According to preliminary information, three students were targeted; they were allegedly doused with fuel before being set on fire by a fellow student. The attack resulted in two students suffering serious burns and one fatality.

Jumadi stated that the agency immediately began an investigation following the social media reports and is currently coordinating with the police to establish the full chronology of the event. The LPA is also working to identify the victims and understand the background of the incident. Separately, the Head of Public Relations for the Central Lombok Police, Iptu Lalu Brata Kusnadi, confirmed that the incident took place last year and remains under investigation despite the time that has passed since the event occurred.
