Jakarta Metropolitan Police have arrested Bruneian social media influencer Woodyrman, also known as Mohamad Irman Ali or MIA (33), in connection with the fatal assault of fellow Bruneian national MHF (30) in Blok M, South Jakarta. Woodyrman has been formally named as a suspect.

“Yes, he has been named as a suspect,” said Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, on Tuesday (26 May 2026).

Woodyrman was apprehended early Monday (25 May) at a residence in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, following a series of investigations into the case.

He faces charges under Article 466 paragraph (3) and/or Article 468 paragraph (2) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code concerning assault resulting in death.

The assault occurred at 3.30am on Wednesday (6 May 2026). The victim was initially at the location with witnesses when others arrived and engaged in conversation. Around 3.28am, the suspect arrived with an accomplice in a vehicle carrying a black paper bag believed to contain glass bottles, then approached the victim leading to an argument at the entrance of Blok M Hub.

“The suspect allegedly struck the victim once on the head with the paper bag containing glass bottles, causing the victim to collapse,” Hermanto said.

The victim was taken to a nearby accommodation before being transferred to RSPP for medical treatment. However, his condition deteriorated and he was declared dead on 16 May 2026.
