Bruneian National Sent Challenge Voice Note to Woodyrman Before Fatal Assault
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police revealed that MHF (30), a Bruneian national and victim of assault by celebrity Woodyrman (33), sent a voice message challenging a fight to the perpetrator. ‘Prior to the incident, the victim also sent a voice note challenging a fight,’ stated Polda Metro Jaya’s Chief of Public Relations, Commissioner General Budi Hermanto, in a written statement on Thursday (28 May 2026). Budi explained that the incident began with a misunderstanding between the suspect and one of the victim’s friends several days before the assault occurred in Blok M, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Wednesday (6 May 2026). Subsequently, the victim and suspect met at Blok M after MHF sent a message challenging a fight. ‘When the victim and suspect met at the scene, the situation became increasingly confrontational. Investigations suggest the suspect was under the influence of alcohol,’ Budi said. In a fit of rage, Woodyrman struck the victim once on the head with his right hand, which was holding a paper bag containing a glass bottle. ‘As a result of the blow, the victim fell at the scene, received medical treatment, and was later declared dead,’ Budi added. It was previously reported that Bruneian national MHF (30) died after being assaulted by celebrity MIA in Blok M, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (6 May 2026). Polda Metro Jaya’s Chief of Public Relations, Commissioner General Budi Hermanto, stated the incident began when MHF and his friends were seated near the location.
