Brunei Influencer Case in Blok M: Victim Sent Voice Note Challenging Suspect to a Fight
Police have revealed new facts surrounding the assault by Brunei Darussalam influencer Mohamad Irman Ali (33), known as Woodyrman, against MHF (30), which resulted in death in the Blok M area of South Jakarta’s Kebayoran Baru. Police spokesperson Kombes Budi Hermanto of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police stated that prior to the incident, the victim sent a voice note to the suspect containing a challenge to fight. “Before the incident, the victim also sent a voice note challenging the suspect to fight,” Budi told reporters on Thursday (28 May). Additionally, the suspect had previously been involved in a misunderstanding with a witness. At that time, the victim attempted to defend the witness, leading to a verbal altercation between the victim and Woodyrman. Consequently, when the two met at the scene, the situation turned increasingly confrontational. Furthermore, investigations suggest the suspect was under the influence of alcohol at the time. “In a fit of anger, the suspect struck the victim once on the head with his right hand, which was holding a paper bag containing a drink bottle,” Budi said. As a result of the blow, the victim fell. He was later admitted to South Jakarta’s RSPP Hospital for medical treatment before ultimately passing away. Previously, the Jakarta Metropolitan Police arrested a foreign national (WNA) influencer from Brunei Darussalam identified as MIA (33), suspected of assaulting his acquaintance MHF (30) to death in the Blok M area of South Jakarta’s Kebayoran Baru. Police spokesperson Kombes Budi Hermanto said the suspect, known by the social media handle @Woodyrman, was arrested in the early hours of Monday (25 May). “Officers arrested one suspect identified as MIA, male, 33, a foreign national from Brunei Darussalam, on Monday, 25 May 2026, in Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta,” he told reporters on Tuesday (26 May). The suspect has now been formally charged under Article 466(3) and/or Article 468(2) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code (KUHP) concerning assault resulting in death.
