Brunei commander visits Singapore
SINGAPORE (AP): The commander of Brunei's land forces met with
Singapore's defense minister on Friday as part a five-day visit
to the island republic, officials said.
Joint military exercises between Singapore and Brunei have
"increased significantly in scope and depth" over the years,
Singapore's defense ministry said in a statement.
The two neighbor countries have warm relations. Their
currencies are interchangeable, and they often conduct military
exercises together.
Col. Jaafar Aziz of Brunei called on Singapore defense
minister Tony Tan, who is also the country's deputy prime
minister, the ministry said. Jaafar also met with the chiefs of
Singapore's defense force and army, the statement said.
