Brother of KL leader dies
KUALA LUMPUR (AP): Mahadi Mohamad, the older brother of Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, died on Tuesday after suffering a fall in the bathroom of his home, the national news agency Bernama reported. He was 86.
Mahadi had not been ill except for a serious cold the past few days. Family members said he fell on Tuesday morning in the bathroom at his home in Sungai Petani, in northern Malaysia. Other details were not disclosed.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday in accordance with Islamic custom. Mahathir, 74, the youngest of five siblings, and other family members paid final respects at Mahadi's home.
Mahadi is survived by his wife, Kalsom Hamzah, two sons and three daughters.
