Bromo Closed Due to Fire, Tourists Can Request Ticket Refunds
The Mount Bromo tourist area has been completely closed due to a widespread forest fire. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) Agency has prepared two solutions for tourists who have already purchased tickets. The closure applies to all entrances to the TNBTS area, namely Cemorolawang, Wonokitri, Jemplang, Coban Trisula, and Senduro. The policy took effect on Saturday (8/8) at 22.00 WIB until an unspecified time. “For visitors who have purchased entrance tickets through the online booking application for visits during the closure period, they will be given the opportunity to reschedule or receive a refund,” said Head of the TNBTS Agency Rudijanta Tjahja Nugraha. The process of applying for a reschedule or refund can be done by filling out a special form provided by the management. Information and instructions for filling out the form will be sent directly by the booking portal admin officer. “Visitors simply complete the form we send via the TNBTS online booking application admin,” Rudijanta explained. TNBTS stressed that the access closure was carried out purely for the safety of visitors and the smooth operation of the firefighting team in the caldera area. The firefighting process is currently still being intensified.
