Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded that the liquidity of the economy, or broad money supply (M2), in March 2026 grew higher at 9.7% year-on-year (yoy), reaching Rp10,355.1 trillion.

“In March 2026, M2 grew by 9.7% (yoy), higher than the February 2026 growth of 8.7% (yoy), thus reaching Rp10,355.1 trillion,” said Director of the BI Communication Department Anton Pitono in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

Furthermore, BI stated that this development was driven by the growth of narrow money supply (M1) by 14.4% (yoy) and quasi-money by 5.2% (yoy).

The M2 development in March 2026 was mainly influenced by net claims on the central government (Pempus) and credit disbursements.

Meanwhile, credit disbursements in March 2026 grew by 8.9% (yoy), stable compared to the growth in February 2026.

In this regard, the credit provided is only in the form of loans, and does not include financial instruments equivalent to loans, such as debt securities, banker’s acceptances, and repo bills.

In addition, the credit provided does not include credit extended by general bank offices domiciled abroad, and credit disbursed to the central government and non-residents.

This development was influenced by the growth of general bank giro at Bank Indonesia adjusted by 41.8% (yoy) and currency in circulation by 8.6% (yoy).

Based on the influencing factors, the growth of M0 adjusted has taken into account the impact of liquidity incentive provision (adjusted monetary control).
