Briton shot dead outside a condo

MANILA (AFP): A British national was shot dead in an ambush
outside a plush condominium in a suburb of the Philippine
capital, police said here yesterday.

Abdula Hamid Alsaji, 62, had just stepped out of the
condominium where he was residing in the city of Pasig, when a
man shot him with a .45 caliber pistol late on Monday. The
assailant then fled.

Police could not say what the deceased's home town was or what
he was doing in the Philippines. The police said their initial
investigation indicated that the killing might have been prompted
by a love triangle. They did not elaborate.
