CEBU, Philippines (AFP): A Briton and two Filipinos were injured when a light plane ditched in the sea near this central Philippine city on Thursday, an aviation official said.
Jack Clout, British electronics engineering consultant for Pilipino Telephone Corp. (Piltel), Piltel vice president Clarence Rivera and pilot George Kapilitan were listed in "stable" condition at a hospital here.
Their chartered Beechcraft developed engine trouble about 45 minutes into their early morning flight to Manila and crash- landed at sea off the town of Asturias, Air Transportation Office supervisor Mario Tapuso told reporters.
The three were rescued by fishermen, he added.
