Briton deported for visa infraction
MEDAN: The North Sumatra immigration office on Wednesday deported Briton Robert Herbert Clek, 40, putting him on a Malaysia-bound ferry from Belawan port.
According to an immigration officer, the Briton was found to have overstayed his visa and his passport expired on Oct. 6, 1998.
Quoting the immigration official's data, Antara reported in 1998 North Sumatra deported 129 foreigners, including nationals of the United States, Germany, Britain, Bangladesh, the Netherlands and Thailand.
Eighty-four were deported from Medan, four from Pematang Siantar, seven from Tanjung Balai, 13 from Sibolga and 21 from Padang Sidempuan.
