British Tourist Mourns Litter in Sembalun; Student Faces Depression After 12 Failed Exams

17-Year-Old Youth Dies After Falling into Ravine
A 17-year-old youth, identified by the initials IGA from Cakranegara, Mataram, died during a spiritual climb on Mount Rinjani on Monday (27/7/2026). The victim died after falling into a ravine approximately 100 metres deep.
The Head of Administration for the Mount Rinjani National Park (TNGR), Astekita Ardiarising, explained that the victim was part of a spiritual climbing group. The climb began on 26 July 2026, via the Sambik Elen Village route in North Lombok.
