British Council to hold youth camp
JAKARTA: The British Council Indonesia is opening applications for 10 young participants, aged between 18 and 25, from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and the UK to participate in an inter-cultural camp on mutual understanding and cultural identity in Davao City, the Philippines, in January next year.
The youthful activities, interaction, and culture sharing, to be held from Jan. 16 to Jan. 25, 2006, are expected to empower young leaders to operate more effectively as catalysts for positive change through better mutual understanding of one another's cultures and identities.
Activities at the Eden Nature Park & Resort, Davao City, will include visual and performing arts, music, writing and oral traditions, role-play, debates, brainstorming, team building exercises, trekking, sports, community immersion, and institutional visits.
The British Council will provide transportation and accommodation for successful candidates. Selection of participants is open until Nov. 11, 2005. Application forms can be downloaded from www.britishcouncil.or.id. -- JP
