British Council to hold youth camp

JAKARTA: The British Council Indonesia is opening applications
for 10 young participants, aged between 18 and 25, from
Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and the UK to
participate in an inter-cultural camp on mutual understanding and
cultural identity in Davao City, the Philippines, in January next
year.

The youthful activities, interaction, and culture sharing, to
be held from Jan. 16 to Jan. 25, 2006, are expected to empower
young leaders to operate more effectively as catalysts for
positive change through better mutual understanding of one
another's cultures and identities.

Activities at the Eden Nature Park & Resort, Davao City, will
include visual and performing arts, music, writing and oral
traditions, role-play, debates, brainstorming, team building
exercises, trekking, sports, community immersion, and
institutional visits.

The British Council will provide transportation and
accommodation for successful candidates. Selection of
participants is open until Nov. 11, 2005. Application forms can
be downloaded from www.britishcouncil.or.id. -- JP
