Britain, RI to hold joint seminars
JAKARTA: The defense ministry and the British Embassy in Jakarta are organizing a number of seminars aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Indonesia and the United Kingdom.
A press statement issued by the Ministry of Defense said that the seminars would be held on Feb. 19, with the theme: The Deployment Procedure of Military and Police Personnel in Military Operations; and on Feb. 26 and Feb. 27 on Conflict Resolution.
"The two joint seminars illustrate the positive bilateral relations between Indonesia and the United Kingdom, especially in military cooperation," the statement said.
Up until 2001, Indonesia had sent 549 military personnel for training in Britain, while the British government had sent only three personnel for training in Indonesia. -- Antara
