BRITACEG to Add AI to Tax Administration Training
Jakarta (ANTARA) – BRITACEG will expand its tax administration training programme by adding material on digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI), with the aim of enhancing the capacity of tax officials in Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) partner countries.
BRITACEG Director Ho Silvestre In Mui said the curriculum development was part of efforts to improve the quality and effectiveness of training by tailoring its content to the practical needs of tax administration in partner countries.
“Alongside core taxation topics, BRITACEG will also introduce training sessions covering digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as tax issues related to double taxation avoidance agreements,” he said in a speech at the 7th BRITACOF in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Ho said BRITACEG would focus on improving training quality and effectiveness, guided by the capacity-building plan in the Hong Kong Action Plan 2025–2027 and the practical needs of tax administrations in partner countries.
The group is also optimising its annual training schedule by combining recorded video lessons, live question-and-answer sessions and specialised in-person training programmes.
As well as broadening the range of training topics, BRITACEG will refine its curriculum through the development of advanced courses and practical cross-country case studies. The material is expected to help participants apply what they learn in carrying out tax administration duties.
Ho added that BRITACEG would increase trainers’ engagement through question-and-answer sessions based on participants’ progress, direct collection of feedback and assessments of how training material is being applied.
Co-operation among tax academies will also be expanded through the exchange of best practices, joint course development and the sharing of trainers. Ho said these efforts were intended to build a training system based on common standards, pooled resources and the strengths of each region.
“BRITACEG will actively co-ordinate programme delivery and the application of training outcomes, review its brand profile, and contribute collectively to strengthening global tax administration capacity,” he said.
BRITACEG (Belt and Road Initiative Tax Administration Capacity Enhancement Group) is a working group focused on building tax administration capacity in countries and jurisdictions participating in the BRI. Indonesia is one of its members.
