BRI's QRIS Simplifies Transactions for Fruit Junkies Customers
Satrio Utomo has experienced the benefits of cashless transactions through BRI’s QRIS. The owner of the Fruit Junkies juice business in Denpasar said the state-owned bank’s QRIS gives his customers a choice of payment methods. Another benefit, Satrio continued, is that money from juice purchases goes directly into his account. “I also don’t need to go to the bank often to deposit cash,” he said on Saturday (18/7/2026). BRI’s QRIS also helps business owners like Satrio manage cash flow more practically and efficiently. According to Satrio, cash and cashless payments are balanced. Cashless transactions can exceed Rp 2 million per day. Non-cash transactions are usually higher than cash payments at the beginning of the month. “At the start of the month, more people usually use QRIS,” he said. Satrio explained that Fruit Junkies customers can still pay in cash. He uses that money to buy raw materials at the market. Fruit Junkies sells around 200 glasses of fruit juice per day. The business uses about 40 kilograms of avocados daily, sourced from East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Bali. Fruit Junkies is a juice business that has been operating for about 11 years in Denpasar. It started by selling avocados brought in from NTT. Now, Fruit Junkies sells not only avocado juice but also mango, soursop, strawberry, and other seasonal fruit juices. Regional CEO of BRI Region 17 Denpasar, Hery Noercahya, said BRI’s QRIS is a digital payment solution that benefits Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by enhancing their competitiveness in the digital era. “BRI’s QRIS not only provides transaction convenience for consumers but also helps MSMEs run their businesses more efficiently, safely, and in a modern way,” he said. Through a single QR code, Hery explained, merchants can receive payments from various banking applications and digital wallets connected to QRIS. This makes transactions more practical and faster. QRIS is also a national payment standard that enables interoperability between banks and payment service providers, while supporting financial inclusion for MSMEs. “With fast, secure, and well-documented transactions, business owners can focus more on developing their business and providing the best service to customers,” he said. According to Hery, the use of QRIS encourages the acceleration of MSME digitalisation by reducing dependence on cash transactions, speeding up the payment process, and providing a more comfortable transaction experience for customers. Additionally, all transactions are recorded digitally, making it easier for business owners to monitor and manage their business finances. BRI Region 17 Denpasar continues to encourage QRIS adoption through education, mentoring, and easy merchant registration. The state-owned bank has also introduced a digital ecosystem through the BRIMerchant application, which helps business owners monitor transactions and accept various payment methods more easily. Hery stressed that BRI remains committed to supporting MSME empowerment through digital service innovations that expand market access, improve operational efficiency, and encourage inclusive and sustainable regional economic growth.
