BRI's 'BRIvolution Reignite' Transformation Accelerates, Strengthening Danantara's Contribution to the National Economy
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to accelerate the BRIvolution Reignite transformation as a foundation to strengthen the company’s competitiveness whilst creating ever greater value for the national economy.
As part of the Danantara Indonesia ecosystem, BRI ensures that every step of the transformation not only delivers healthy and sustainable business growth, but also expands its contribution to the people’s economy through financing of productive sectors and support for various government priority programmes.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi said that BRIvolution Reignite is an integrated transformation framework that guides the company in strengthening its business fundamentals, enhancing competitiveness, and creating sustainable benefits for the state, society, shareholders, and all stakeholders.
“BRIvolution Reignite is designed to ensure BRI can grow in an increasingly healthy, efficient, and competitive manner, whilst remaining consistent in its role as a bank that champions the people’s economy. This transformation forms part of BRI’s commitment to delivering greater value creation in line with the strategic direction of Danantara Indonesia,” said Hery.
The transformation rests on two main pillars supported by six enablers as drivers of change across the organisation. The Transform the Funding Franchise pillar is directed at strengthening BRI’s funding structure to make it more efficient, stable, and based on low-cost funds through bolstering CASA and enhancing transaction banking capabilities.
Meanwhile, the Revamp Existing Core and Build New Core pillar focuses on strengthening micro-lending (the core business) whilst building a consumer banking growth engine (a new growth source) capable of meeting customer needs and industry dynamics.
Implementation of the transformation is reflected in the company’s continually strengthening performance. As of Q1 2026, BRI Group’s total assets grew 7.2% year-on-year to Rp2,250 trillion, whilst loans and financing rose 13.7% to Rp1,562 trillion. Over the same period, the company’s consolidated net profit stood at Rp15.5 trillion. On the funding side, Third-Party Funds reached Rp1,555.1 trillion, growing 9.4% year-on-year, which also helped reduce the cost of funds from 2.98% in Q1 2025 to 2.33% in Q1 2026.
